Desired skills
– Relevant experience in in steel and steel product procurement, typically 3 to 5+ years in the related field.
– A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from reputed institute.
– Professional certifications such as the Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) from reputed
Institute or a degree in supply chain management, logistics, business
administration can be advantageous.
– Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
– Excellent analytical, decision-making, and management skills.
– Proficient in using procurement software and tools including SAP.
– Deep understanding of supply chain and inventory management systems.
– Capability to work under pressure and adapt to dynamic environments.
– Attention to detail and a commitment to achieving operational efficiency.
Job description
– Manufacturing Processes: Knowledge in welding, roll-forming, stamping,
laser cutting, bending, automatic, and robotic processes.
– Market Research: Identify and evaluate potential vendors and suppliers.
– Procurement: Oversee the entire procurement process, including quality
control.
– Negotiations: Negotiate terms and collaborate with the legal department on contracts.
– Coordination: Work with internal departments to forecast needs.
– Budget Management: Manage the procurement budget and prepare cost
analyses.
– Strategies: Develop cost-effective procurement strategies.
– Supplier Relationships: Maintain and expand the supplier network.
– Supplier Management: Ensure contract compliance and resolve issues.
– Optimization: Improve spending, product quality, and delivery times.
– Inventory Management: Efficiently manage inventory.
– New Suppliers: Identify and evaluate new sourcing opportunities.
